<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveyer in an image recorder capable of recording satisfactorily an image, even when one part of a plurality of linear motor mechanisms is not operated normally. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This conveyer is provided with a plurality of tables for holding a recording medium, the plurality of linear motor mechanisms for conveying the plurality of tables in at least the first conveying section including an image recording execution portion onto the recording medium, and an endless conveying mechanism for conveying the plurality of tables in at least the second conveying section consecutive to the first conveying section, and capable of conveying also the plurality of tables in the first conveying section, and is further provided with an unused linear motor mechanism setting means for setting an unused linear motor mechanism. The conveyer allows alternative conveyance by the endless conveying mechanism, as to the table not conveyable by any of the plurality of linear motor mechanisms out of conveying objects in the first conveying section, out of the plurality of tables, when the unused linear motor mechanism is set.
