<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying apparatus combining a linear motor conveying and a chain conveying, and capable of well performing the linear motor conveying even when elongation is generated in a chain. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a conveying mechanism 3, conveying is performed by the chain 23 in a first conveying section, the conveying is performed by a linear motor mechanism 24 in a second conveying section, and the chain 23 is moved so that a connecting pin of the chain 23, in which engagement with a chain connecting part of a table 20 is released when the table 20 shifts to the second conveying section, may be engaged again with the chain connecting part when the table 20 shifts to the first conveying section. In the conveying mechanism 3, the driving speed of a rotating member by a chain driving mechanism is corrected in accordance with the elongated condition of the chain from the number of driving pulse in the chain driving mechanism during the connecting pin passes through the second conveying section so that a relative positional relation between the connecting pin and the chain connecting part may be held in the second conveying section.
