<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly hold the engagement between a rotating disk and locking teeth. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This seat reclining apparatus for vehicle is equipped with a fixed disk 5 which is combined with a seat cushion, the rotating disk 7 which is combined with a seat back and has an internal toothed gear 7a on the inner peripheral surface, and a pair of locking teeth 10 and a pair of subsidiary cams 11 which are freely movable along guide grooves 5b and 5c formed on the fixed disk 5. The seat reclining apparatus is also equipped with an external toothed gear 10c which is formed on the locking teeth 10 and is engaged with the internal toothed gear 7a, an arm section 10b which is integrally formed on the locking teeth 10 and keeps the posture of the locking teeth 10, and a receiving section 11b which is integrally formed on the subsidiary cams 11 and constitutes a closed ring together with the pair of arm sections 10b. In addition, the seat reclining apparatus is equipped with a cam 9 which locks the locking teeth 10 and the subsidiary cams 11 by pushing them outward in the radial direction by the rotating urging of a spring, and a release plate 12 which moves the locking teeth 10 and the subsidiary cams 11 by integrally rotating with the cam 9 when the cam 9 is rotated in the releasing direction by operating an operation lever 17.
