<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of easily scanning a plurality of frequency bands. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The receiver includes a receiving unit 18 for receiving a receiving signal; a storage unit 15 for storing a band table, in which a plurality of frequency bands to be scanned has been registered, with each frequency band being allowed to correspond to each band identifier and a link table in which the arbitrary number of the band identifiers registered in the band table has been registered with each band identifier allowed to correspond to a link identifier; and a controller 10 and a frequency synthesizer 16 which, when a link identifier has been specified, refer to the band table and the link table to determine a group of a frequency band corresponding to the link identifier and then scans the inside of the frequency band for each frequency band, to consecutively set the received frequency of the receiving signal.
