PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing composite coated magnetite particles in which the formation of secondary aggregates caused by the mutual coalescence of primary particles is suppressed. SOLUTION: In the composite coated magnetite particles, the surface of each core particle, obtained by covering the surface of each magnetite particle with an inorganic compound, is treated with a silane compound. The method for producing the composite coated magnetite particles includes bonding the silane compound to the surface of each core particle by adding the silane compound to slurry containing water as a medium and core particles and having a pH of 2-6.
