There are disclosed racemic or enantiomerically enriched 3- or 4-substituted piperidine compounds represented by the following structural formula (I) or any of their isomers, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions containing the subject compounds.
