The device has an exchangeable data medium e.g. secure digital card and universal serial busstick, for recording data stored in a ring memory by a key press or sensor actuation. The data in the exchangeable data medium comprises visual flow of traffic together with global positioning system (GPS) data, position, time stamp, and speed. A digital image recorder or a camera system is attached behind a windscreen of a vehicle, and the data is received by a GPS system. Connection between the recorder, camera system and GPS system by a cable and Bluetooth. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle travel recording method.
