PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regeneration method of a used composite rolling roll which can be applied economically in a short working time and a regenerated composite roll manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: The regeneration method is applied to the used composite rolling roll 14, which has a core material 11 made of steel material and a first ferrous hard outer layer 13 formed on its barrel part 15 by a continuous tinkering method. After the surface of the barrel part 15 is machined to expose the base material, the regenerated composite roll 10 is manufactured by forming a second ferrous outer layer 16 on the base material, which comprises, by mass%, 0.5-3.0% C, 0.2-2.0% Si, 0.2-2.0% Mn, 0.5-10.0% V, 3.0-10.0% Cr, either or both of 2.0-10.0% Mo and 2.0-10.0% W, and Fe and inevitable impurities as the balance, by the continuous tinkering method.
