PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meter box unit which is designed so that both a meter box and a pipe space are projected on the shared passage side, which does not spoil the beauty of a building, which can be easily installed, and which is stable in structure. SOLUTION: The meter box unit is installed on the outer side of the wall on the shared passage side of adjacent dwellings, and meter storage parts 21 are provided on both sides of a pipe storage part 11 which is continuous from the floor surface of the shared passage to a ceiling surface. A space of required height is provided between the lower part of the meter storage part 21 and the floor surface. Then vertical pipes 12a, 12b for running water and gas, electricity/communications cable or the like are stored in the pipe storage part 11 without being exposed to the outside, and a reading meter for each dwelling such as a water meter 22a, a gas meter 22b, a wattmeter box 22c or the like is stored in the meter storage part 21.
