<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine ensuring sufficient startability and preventing deterioration in exhaust gas, even in a cold start of the internal combustion engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This control device for the internal combustion engine includes: a plurality of injectors 12 injecting fuel to a plurality of cylinders 2 of the engine 1; a delivery pipe 13 distributing fuel to the plurality of injectors 12; a delivery pipe heater 14 heating fuel in the delivery pipe 13; a fuel heating control means 33 controlling the operation of the delivery pipe heater 14 according to the cooling water temperature Tw of the engine 1; and a fuel injection control means 34 controlling injection of fuel from the plurality of injectors 12. When fuel is heated by the fuel heating control means 33 in the first injection from the plurality of injectors 12, the fuel injection control means 34 injects the heated fuel sequentially from the injector 12 closest to the inlet of the delivery pipe 13.
