PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein connection of an external pipe to a pipe connection part of a hot water storage tank reduces a clearance between the external pipe, making it difficult to insert a hand to the back side of a recessed part, to detach a lid on the back vertical face of the recessed part, and to operate a valve such as a drain valve. SOLUTION: Pipe joints 2-5 for connecting the external pipes 11-14 to an internal pipe within a hot water storage tank unit 100 are arranged on the front face side of the hot water storage tank unit 100, and the pipe connection part 21 is positioned in the height between the top part and the bottom part of the hot water storage tank 1. The lower side of the pipe connection part 21 serves as a stepped recessed part 20 and is used for a space for connecting the external pipes 11-14. An operation handle 9 of an operation valve 8 for switching a flow passage of the internal pipe is provided on the stepped recessed part 20, and the rotation center 9a of the operation handle 9 is located in the position eccentric from the center of an arrangement pitch of the pipe joints.
