The device has a deep-drawing device (2) whose hollow spaces (1) are arranged in parallel in a plane and are formed as cavities (3a-3d) rotatable around a longitudinal axis (A). A labeling insertion device (5) acts perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and perpendicular to a plane of openings of the hollow space of the cavity (3a) in a transverse direction (B). The insertion device is reciprocated with a linear distance movement in the transverse direction by a drive such that the insertion device simultaneously inserts labels into the hollow space of the cavity (3a). An independent claim is also included for a method for labeling foodstuff containers.
