GAS GENERATOR AND FILTER FOR GAS GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator capable of easily assembling a filter constituted of a laminated body of hook metal even if using the filter, and suppressing manufacturing cost low.

SOLUTION: This gas generator 1A has a short cylindrical housing including an initiator shell 20 and a closure shell 30 and is provided with a combustion chamber 50 and the filter 60 therein. A gas generating agent 51 is stored in the combustion chamber 50. The filter 60 is arranged in the housing and has a hollow cylindrical shape to surround the combustion chamber 50. The filter 60 is constituted of the laminated body laminated by winding a metallic plate type member having a plurality of openings 62 on peripheral edges of which the projected parts are formed, held from the axial direction by the initiator shell 20 and the closure shell 30 and fixed. A bent part 64 to deform to reduce contour dimensions in the axial direction of the filter 60 when fixed is provided ar an end in the axial direction of the filter 60.
