PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can constantly obtain a stable density image by estimating VL changes of a photoreceptor drum, while taking into account the effect of a fixing device on a heat source for each process station, and by controlling image formation according to it. SOLUTION: Image formation is appropriately controlled by estimating change due to VL increase and change due to VL decrease, while taking into account the rotating time of a photoreceptor, stopping time of the photoreceptor, the temperature of atmosphere environment, the absolute humidity of atmosphere environment, and the effect of the fixing device on the heat source for each process station.
