METHOD OF MEASURING WOOD DENSITY BY LASER INDUCED PLASMA EMISSION ANALYSIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of nondestructively measuring air-dried density of a wood regardless of a wood moisture content by using laser induced plasma emission analysis for wood density measurement. SOLUTION: A calibration curve of carbon's fluorescence intensity obtained from the surface of a wood by laser induced plasma emission analysis and wood's air-dried density determined as the ratio of mass and volume is prepared, and then the wood's air-dried density is measured by using the calibration curve.
