<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute proper aligning operation and sorting operation in relation to sheets of a prescribed length or longer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When sheets S of the prescribed length or longer are sorted by sorting plates 20A and 20B and aligned by aligning plates 30A and 30B in a main tray 10B, the aligning plate 30A is moved by making the aligning plate follow the movement of the sheets S by the sorting plates 20A and 20B. When the sheets S are discharged to the main tray 10B from an intermediate stacker 20, a discharge direction of the sheets S is regulated by either of the aligning plates 30A and 30B.
