The roller has a roller body (1) and a covering element (2) that covers a lateral surface of the roller body. The covering element is detachably fastened on the lateral surface of the roller body. The covering element is manufactured from a fabric tube made of glass fiber, carbon fiber or ceramic fiber. The covering element is fastened to an end of the roller body by a clamping element (3) i.e. flexible cable strap, where the flexible cable strap is manufactured from steel strip. Cross-sectional dimension of the roller body is tapered around each end of the roller body.
