<p>Provided is an ear thermometer which is capable of illuminating a liquid crystal with a backlight without increase in a battery capacity, whereby a user can easily see a liquid-crystal display of a body temperature even in a dark place. The ear thermometer is characterized in that an MCU (1) displays on a liquid crystal display section (5) the body temperature measured by a body temperature measurement section (3), controls during the first predetermined period from the liquid-crystal display a backlight illumination section (7) via input/output ports (P1, P2) so as to maximize the light quantity of the backlight with which the liquid crystal display section (5) is illuminated from the backlight illumination section (7), controls during the following second predetermined period the backlight illumination section (7) such that the light quantity of the backlight becomes a predetermined light quantity lower than the maximum light quantity, and controls after a lapse of the second predetermined period the backlight illumination section (7) such that the light quantity of the backlight becomes zero.</p> |
