<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unnecessary power consumption of a projector which starts when AC power is supplied. <P>SOLUTION: The projector 1 includes: a signal input part (image signal input part 30) which inputs a signal from external equipment 100 through a connection member (cable 40); a connection detection part 33 which detects whether the connection member is connected to the signal input part when the projector 1 is supplied with the AC power; and a control part 20 which shifts the projector 1 in a start state wherein a light source (light source lamp 11) illuminates based upon the detection result of the connection detection part 33 when the connection member is connected, or shifts the projector 1 in a standby state wherein the light source does not illuminate when the connection member is not connected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
