PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical linear motor whose thrust is large and reducing thrust ripples. SOLUTION: The cylindrical linear motor is composed of a stator 1 and a mover 10 that is arranged via a gap to the stator 1 and can move linearly to the stator 1. The stator 1 includes a stator iron core 3 having stator salient poles 3b and three-phase stator windings 2 inserted in slots formed in the stator iron core 3. The mover 10 includes a plurality of permanent magnets 11 fixed on a mover iron core 12. When a pitch of the stator salient poles 3b isτs and that of the permanent magnets 11 isτp, 3/4<τp/τs<3/2 is satisfied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
