PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow molded article easily assembled to other components, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The hollow molded article 14 is formed in hollow cross section by joining two constitutive pieces 20, 30 formed of fiber reinforced plastic, by partially overlapping each other. The respective constitutive pieces have flat joint faces 23, 24, 25, 26, 33, 34, 35, 36 overlapping with the other constitutive pieces. Out of both faces of each of the constitutive pieces, at least one face on the side of forming the external shape of the hollow cross section, and the joint face are formed using a mold 40.
