<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a pleated filter medium which is suitable to carry out reliable connection of original fabric pieces and subsequent stable pleating processing even where two or more original fabric pieces are connected to one another to obtain one original fabric and then the original fabric is subjected to pleating processing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method involves connecting two or more original fabric pieces to one another with a heat seal to obtain one original fabric and thereafter carrying out pleating processing of the original fabric. In the case where the original fabric pieces are treated by liquid-repelling treatment, heat sealing may be carried out in a state that an adhesive assisting material (for example, urethane nonwoven fabric) is set between the original fabric pieces.
