<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an adhesive is insufficiently cured, if an adhesive surface is not sufficiently irradiated with UV light, to cause deviation of a relative position of a light valve, and it takes comparatively long time to sufficiently cure the adhesive. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image projection apparatus includes: a light valve holding member to hold the light valve; a prism side holding member attached to a prism constituting a color synthesizing optical system; and a transparent spacer member made to adhere to the light valve holding member and the prism side holding member by using ultraviolet curing resin. The transparent spacer member has a reflection surface for reflecting ultraviolet light to at least either an adhesive surface of the light valve holding member or an adhesive surface of the prism side holding member.
