Ž<P>SOLUTION: The collision-proof reinforcing member for a vehicle 1 with superior buckling resistance is a collision-proof reinforcing member 1a, 1b for the vehicle formed of a molded thin sheet comprises at least a body 2 and a pair of side walls 4 integrated with the body 2 through folding parts 3 arranged at both sides in the width direction of the body 2, wherein a recessed bead 8 extending in the center in the width direction of the body 2 is arranged in the body 2 along its longitudinal direction, and when the distance between the recessed bead 8 and the folding part 3 is made to be an effective width c', the recessed bead 8 is arranged so that the effective width c' satisfies a predetermined equation.
