<p>Provided is a mechanism for temporarily holding a tip, which is suitable for facilitating a tip replacement operation. A throw-away cutting tool provided with such mechanism is also provided. Each of the mechanism for temporarily holding a tip and the throw-away cutting tool is provided with at least one groove or a protruding section at a predetermined position on the tip, and at least a tip attaching base or a tip fixing means is provided with a protruding section or a groove which can be engaged with the groove or the protruding section. The groove extends substantially in parallel with the base surface of the tip attaching base, and the protruding section is inserted into the groove to be engaged therewith at the time of inserting/removing the tip into/from the tip attaching base, and the tip is permitted to move only in a predetermined direction with respect to the tip attaching base.</p> |
