<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker which restrains height directional dimensions. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The circuit breaker includes: a handle arm 1 rotatably pivoted on a fixing section and operated by a handle 2; a toggle link mechanism having a first link 4 and a second link 5 mutually movably connected with each other and stretching an opening and closing spring 3 between a connection section and the handle arm; a cross bar 9 connected with the second link by a cross bar pin 12 and rotated by actions of the toggle link mechanism; a movable contactor 10 having a movable contact 10a at one end and rotatably pivoted by the cross bar so as to make the other end rotate and interconnecting with rotation of the cross bar; and a fixed contactor 11 having a fixed contact 11a which can contact and separate with the movable contact. The opening and closing spring hooking section 1c of the handle arm and a connection section 1b between the handle arm and the handle are located at positions separated from each other.
