PURPOSE: A portable terminal performing a wanted notice service and a control method thereof are provided to send the wanted notice to the portable terminal which is sampled by a request for the wanted. CONSTITUTION: A wireless circuit unit(460) sets up a communications channel with mobile radio communications network. A memory unit(440) stores the wanted notice for the mobile terminal including an image and a text of the wanted target person. A controller(410) performs a wanted notice mode which compulsively offers the wanted notice for the portable terminal stored in the memory unit in response to the opening and shutting the initial display of the display unit.
