PURPOSE: An automatic steering method of a vehicle and an apparatus thereof are provided to reduce the vibration of a steering wheel generated by the overshoot due to automatic steering control. CONSTITUTION: An automatic steering method of a vehicle is composed of a GPS receiver(306), an ECU(Electronic Control Unit, 308), an EPS control unit(102), a steering output control unit(302), and an EPS motor(104). The GPS receiver is installed to receive a position information of a vehicle. The ECU generates the steering command so that the error between the position information and the preset traveling route is minimized by receiving the position information from the GPS receiver. The EPS control unit receives the steering command and generates the steering output. The steering output control unit controls the steering output so that the over shoot is reduced. The EPS motor steers the vehicle by receiving the steering output.
