An envelope (11) consisting of a front side (12) and rear side (16), which are interconnected by side flaps (19), has a fold-back flap (18) to which a layer of contact adhesive (23') is applied. The adhesive (23') used is a strong contact which is effective without moistening or activation by any other means. The fold-back flap (18) is laid against the rear side (16) of the envelope for the purposes of transport and storage, an area (22) coated wit a parting agent being provided so that the adhesive (23') can be detached before use. The envelope is closed by pressing the otherwise uncoated closing flap (14) onto the adhesive-coated the fold-back flap (18). Method for manufacture of the envelope consists, than on separating area (22) is applied adhesive (23') and after is fold-back flap (18) the envelope is pressed against adhesive (23').Apparatus for the manufacture of the envelope (11) consists application station (36) adhesive means and application station (48) adhesive (23'), following onto a folding station (50) for folding the fold-back flap (18), optionally the closure flap (14). |
