CONSTITUTION: A forward sensing apparatus(200) for an adaptive cruise control system is composed of a low frequency range radar distance sensor(210), an infrared laser distance sensor(220), and a forward sensing device controller(230). The forward sensing device controller senses the distance with an object or a vehicle by using input signals from one or all of the low frequency range radar distance sensor and the infrared laser distance sensor.
