The method involves controlling the emission of a predefined sequence of signals identified by a detection sensor (4) e.g. infrared sensor, by an electromagnetic antenna (3) integrated in a door handle (2) of a vehicle (1). The sensor is programmed such that the sensor changes its operating mode during identification of the predefined sequence of signals. The emission control of the predefined sequence of signals and the programming of the sensor are performed for changing the operating mode of the sensor.
