<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of a compressor by reducing a frictional loss caused by deformation of a fixed scroll and a turning scroll. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This scroll compressor is so configured that the fixed scroll 5 having a spiral lap erected on the inner peripheral portion of a base plate and a cylindrical end plate 5b provided on an outer peripheral portion in order to surround the lap, the turning scroll 6 having a spiral lap forming a plurality of compression chambers by meshing with the lap of the fixed scroll and erected on an end plate 6b opposed to a side where the lap of the fixed scroll is erected, a back pressure chamber provided on the back surface of the turning scroll, and a discharge pressure chamber provided on the back surface of the fixed scroll, are stored in a sealed vessel. In anticipation of deformation of each scroll, the surface of the end plate 6b of the turning scroll 6, opposed to the end plate 5b of the fixed scroll 5, is formed with an inclined surface 6g with plate thickness previously reduced from an outer peripheral side to an inner peripheral side.
