<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spread foundation stably supported on a ground and capable of stably supporting a column. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This spread foundation 10 is buried in the ground in such a manner as to correspond to each column 1 of a structure, supports the bottom end of the column 1 at the center, and transmits the weight of the structure directly to the ground. The spread foundation 10 forms a panel shape expanding horizontally, and the lower surface 10c thereof forms a regular polygonal pyramid surface or a conical surface and is sloped continuously downward toward the center.
