<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polystyrene-based resin composition having excellent flame retardancy, heat resistance and impact resistance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The flame-retardant polystyrene-based resin composition contains a polystyrene-based resin (A), a resin (B) having a glass transition temperature higher than that of the polystyrene-based resin (A), and an organic flame retardant (C). The method for producing the flame-retardant polystyrene-based resin composition is characterized by preparing a mixture (B+C) by kneading the (B) component and the (C) component and then obtaining a homogeneously mixed product by kneading the mixture (B+C) and the (A) component.
