摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting tracking short circuit generated in an electric path without performing special data processing such as frequency analysis, even when a load apparatus is in operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This method includes the first effective value operation steps (S1, S2) for operating effective values of each one cycle of an electric path current over a period of 60 cycles; a mean value operation step (S3) for operating a mean value A after acquiring 60 effective values; the second effective value operation steps (S4, S5) for determining effective values (a1, a2, ..., a60) of each one cycle of a current waveform of 60 cycles; an average difference operation step (S6) for operating 60 mean value differences (s1, s2, ..., s60) by subtracting each effective value determined in the second effective value operation steps from the mean value A; and a determination step (S8) for adding the determined 60 mean value differences, comparing the added value with a threshold set beforehand (S7), and determining that tracking occurs if the added value is larger than the threshold.
