Disclosed is a process for producing a heat storage material that comprises heat storage capsules and does not undergo a lowering in heat storage properties and can ensure good adsorption and desorption properties even under such conditions that an organic solvent (particularly, a volatile fuel such as a mixture of alcohol with gasoline) or moisture or water is present. The process for producing a heat storage material that comprises heat storage capsules having a phase-change material, which absorbs and emits latent heat upon a change in temperature, sealed in a shell comprises bonding portions around abutted parts among the a plurality of heat storage capsules with a binder for molding, molding the assembly into particles to give a molded heat storage material, then coating the outer peripheral surface site of the molded heat storage material with a binder for coating to form a coating layer, and subjecting the coated molded heat storage material with the coating layer formed thereon to reaction acceleration treatment for accelerating at least a polymerization reaction of the binder for coating in the coating layer. |
