The device (1) has a pair of FlexRay(RTM: automotive network communications protocol)-bus drivers (6a, 6b) at a pair of controllers (5a, 5b) controlled by a control logic (4) e.g. application-specific integrated circuit, or micro-controller. The bus drivers at the controllers and a switching logic (14) are connected with each other, where the switching logic is controlled by the control logic. The switching logic has two transistors or a processor. The controllers are integrated in the control logic. A verification unit is provided for verifying a bus subscriber (2). An independent claim is also included for a method for data manipulation of data communication to and/or from a bus subscriber connected to a communication line of a FlexRay bus system.
