<p>The method involves injecting fuel in two partial injections into a combustion chamber of a cylinder (3) of an internal combustion engine (1). Actual torque delivered by the internal combustion engine is determined from operational parameters of the internal combustion engine. Moment efficiency of the respective partial injection is considered, when determining the actual torque. Changes of air mass available for ignition of the fuel in a final partial injection are considered in a rich operation of the internal combustion engine. An independent claim is also included for a computer program for a controller of an internal combustion engine, having a set of instructions to perform a method for operating the internal combustion engine.</p> |
