PURPOSE: An exhaust post processing apparatus of a diesel engine and a regeneration method thereof are provided to induce the natural regeneration of PMC. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust post processing apparatus of a diesel engine comprises a DOC(Diesel Oxidation Calalyst,50), and a PMC(Particulate Matter Catalyst,60) and a controller(100). The DOC is composed of ceramic media coated with platinum(Pt). The PMC physically collects soot and particulate matter. The PMC is reacted with NO_2 generated by the DOC and naturally regenerates the soot and the particulate matter. The controller controls the engine to increase the amount of the NOx generated in the combustion process of the engine.
