<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver for reducing power consumption, or improving an operation response of an application even in a decoder with low throughput. <P>SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver detects an operating state of the application, determines whether or not to reduce decode processing of a video coding stream on the basis of a detection result, and performs load reduction decoding or normal decoding.
