<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a porous carbon sheet which can suitably control the compression deformation rate of a porous carbon sheet and the compressive residual strain in the surface when it is locally pressed. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a porous carbon sheet is provided in which the surface of a carbon short fiber sheet 2 impregnated with a phenolic resin composition is coated with an epoxy resin composition 1, and subjected to heating-pressurizing treatment and thereafter subjected to carbonization treatment. The porous carbon sheet can be provided which simultaneously satisfies all the characteristics required for a porous carbon sheet as the material for the gas diffuser of a fuel cell, concretely, a high compression deformation rate, small compressive residual strain on both surfaces, high conductivity and high mechanical properties. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
