<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production device for an optical element where heating efficiency of an optical element stock is improved by heating using a spare die, and the optical element stock is formed by normal dies so as to shorten a cycle time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: There is provided a production device 10 for an optical element where a thermoplastic optical element stock 41 is press-formed by an upper die 42 and a lower die 43 arranged so as to be confronted, thus an optical element 45 is obtained. At least the upper die 42 in the upper die 42 and the lower die 43 is composed of a spare die 42<SB>1</SB>with a different forming face shape, further, the device is provided with an air cylinder 35 press-forming the optical element stock 41 heated by the spare die 42<SB>1</SB>by the confronted normal forming dies 42, 43.
