<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger with high heat exchange efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An upwind fin 11 and a downwind fin 12 are disposed on the upwind side and the downwind side, respectively, and each of the upwind fin 11 and the downwind fin 12 includes a number of sheet-like fins 10 disposed in parallel to each other at fixed intervals, between which gas flows; and a heat transfer tube 13 inserted at a right angle to the fin 10 and provided in a plurality of stages in a direction right-angled to the air flowing direction. The width of the sheet-like fin 10 of the upwind fin 11 is set larger than that of the sheet-like fin 10 of the downwind fin 12, and a clearance L3 between the fins 11 and 12 is set to about 1-10 mm. According to this, unevenness of heat flow velocity between the fins 11 and 12 can be minimized to make frosting of the fin 11 difficult to occur. The air flow is disturbed by providing the clearance L3 between the fins 11 and 12, whereby the efficiency of heat exchange can be enhanced. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
