PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling quality of a sintered ore, based on temperature distribution at the cross section of a sintered ore agglomerate at breakage and falling of the sintered ore agglomerate at an ore-discharging part of a continuous sintering machine. SOLUTION: In the method, a camera 16 is installed at the ore-discharging part 14 of the sintering machine to take images of the cross section of the sintered ore agglomerate 15 at the ore-discharging part, and the quality of the sintered ore is controlled based on the image data measured over time. The area ratio Sh(t)(%) of parts having temperature of 360-1,000°C to the entire image and the sum Σσxy(t) of standard deviations of temperature in width and height directions of a pallet 6 are calculated from the image data, and, among operation conditions for sintering, at least the transfer rate of the pallet is adjusted so that the area ratio Sh(t)(%) becomes equal to or larger than a prescribed reference value A and that the sum Σσxy(t) of standard deviations becomes equal to or smaller than a reference value B.
