The present invention relates to an UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) device for preventing a network address conflict in consideration of a remote access and a method thereof. A communication method of the UPnP RAS (Remote Access Server) device of the home network according to the present invention selects an address of a virtual home network for remote access which does not conflict with the address of a remote network and performs a mutual network address translation between the selected address of the virtual home network for remote access and the address of the home network in a packet transmitted/received between the remote network and the home network.
