<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lateral streak noise in an image obtained by performing OB correction. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes a pixel array, a generation section, and a correction section. The pixel array is configured by arraying a plurality of pixels in a row direction and a column direction and includes a light shield area, in which light-shielded pixels in the plurality of pixels are disposed, and a valid area in which light non-shielded pixels in the plurality of pixels are disposed. The generation section generates an offset signal on the basis of a signal read from a pixel in the light shield area. The correction section generates a correction signal by multiplying the offset signal by a coefficient determined to reduce a difference between a black level in the light shield area and a black level in the valid area, and uses the generated correction signal to correct a black level of a signal read from a pixel in the valid area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
