PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent compound for obtaining improved luminous efficiency, element life and more appropriate chromaticity coordinates than those of conventional host materials. SOLUTION: The novel organic electroluminescent compound is represented by formula (1), and an organic light-emitting diode and an organic solar cell include the same. In the formula, L<SB>1</SB>represents arylene, or heteroarylene containing one or more heteroatoms selected from N, O and S a bivalent group selected from among specific structures, and L<SB>2</SB>and L<SB>3</SB>independently represents a chemical bond, or alkyleneoxy, alkylenethio, aryleneoxy, arylenethio, arylene or heteroarylene containing one or more heteroatoms selected from among N, O and S.
