PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recognize that scrap paper p is set in a wrong direction without preparing a sensor for reading the scrap paper P in an image forming apparatus for reducing production cost, and to prevent printing from being applied to printed sides of many scrap paper P. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a control part 8 for controlling an image forming operation, and a paper feeding part for placing the scrap paper P whose one side is used. In successive printing of the scrap paper for successively forming images on a plurality of sheets of the scrap paper P, the control part 8 stops the printing operation temporarily after a first sheet is printed.
