<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal, a communication system, and a handover method, which allow to perform more efficient cell search. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The portable communication terminal 100 in one embodiment receives a time difference Δt<SB>off</SB>indicating transmission timing of a beginning data of a WiMAX base station 300, and a transmission delay time T<SB>delay 1</SB>in a 3G base station 200 from the 3G base station 200 via a send/receive part 101. Then a cell search time calculation part 109 calculates a cell search start time t<SB>0</SB>+Δt<SB>off</SB>-t<SB>delay1</SB>, based on the received transmission timing and the transmission delay time, and a cell search part 108 performs the cell search since the start time using a send/receive part 106.
