<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display for enhancing display quality, and a driving method therefor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display is provided with: a liquid crystal display panel including liquid crystal cells formed by arranging a plurality of data lines crossing a plurality of gate lines in matrix; a driving circuit for supplying a data voltage to the data lines to supply a scan pulse to the gate lines, a timing controller for generating a gate start pulse for indicating a scan start horizontal line within one frame period for displaying one screen; a control clock generating part for counting the number of frames using the gate start pulse, to generate a control clock every time an accumulated count value becomes a multiple of a predetermined value; and a common voltage generating circuit for generating control data of a specified bit based on the control clock, and for generating a common voltage of varying a voltage level stepwise in every fixed time, using the control data, to be supplied to the liquid crystal display panel.
